Ašmorani

Lover of arts, seeker of truth and knowledge.

Ašmorani is a multidisciplinary artist focused on exploring human connection and shadow integration through art, with her main focus in music and photography.

Throughout her journey, she has studied classical singing at the Conservatory of Music of Porto under the guidance of Professor Palmira Troufa on vocal technique and repertoire and Professor Jorge Montenegro on the piano, enrolled in the Holistic Voice Therapy course by the The British Academy of Sound Therapy (unfortunately, not the right path), and took several masterclasses and workshops, such as with Janneke van der Putten (Porto, 2017).

She was part of several choirs under the guidance of Professor Manuel Oliveira (with work mostly focusing on Portuguese ethnomusicology), part of a chamber choir under the guidance of Professor Magna Ferreira, and part of the classical choir and jazz group at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, with an extensive number of performances between 2000 and 2012.

In 2016, she has released a new music project under the name of Kabukimno, focused on ritual music, first exploring a more dark folk background in albums like Strega but rapidly evolving into ritual-ceremonial music, with the culmination of this evolution in The Return of the Fallen. Rites of Hekate will see its release in December 2025.

She is also releasing a new project under the name Woman and the Snake in the Winter Solstice of 2025.

In photography, she led the portrait project Lola and the Photography for over a decade, and enrolled in several workshops and masterclasses, such as with Greg Gorman (Berlin, 2018). She collaborated for several years with the webzine Rua de Baixo as a photographer and writer for arts and fashion.

She has also studied dance (contemporary, jazz, tap dancing, hip hop, oriental, barre, ballet), took part in ecstatic dance sessions (5 Rhythms), and was part of several theatre groups (working with José Gonçalinho, Eloy Monteiro or Carla Patricia Marques), both as an actress or performing live music.
